About Jan

Jan Kelly’s career has encompassed sales, marketing, business planning, executive management, an Internet start-up and most recently, co-running a Healthcare company for 17 years.

Jan graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a major in Electrical Engineering. She began her career working for IBM selling the largest hardware and software solutions to major insurance companies. She joined IBM’s insurance industry group, pairing external software with IBM hardware for the investment management needs of insurance companies globally.

Subsequently, Jan worked for two other software companies as a Vice President responsible for sales, marketing, customer support, consulting, business planning, third party relationships, and small business acquisitions. Most memorable was being part of the core team that created a post-acquisition division from concept to launch in three months. From there, she utilized her technology and division management background to run the start-up Internet venture at a multi-billion dollar HR company.

Jan then co-founded, co-owned and oversaw the operations of a healthcare company for the next 17 years. Of most significance was the lifesaving work the company delivered to individuals and their families. Building the company from the ground up, she wore most hats at one point or another. As part of building a stable profitable company, she implemented very successful retirement plans that benefited the employees while saving considerable taxes for the company. Through Norwood Economics, she aspires to bring these same benefits to others.
